The written admission test for cadet colleges will return to 200 marks from 2027, with the authorities reducing the total marks by 100 and introducing a revised syllabus for Class VII admission.

The written test, which has been held for 300 marks since 2019, will now consist of 65 marks in English, 70 in mathematics and 45 in Bangla. Another 20 marks have been allocated for science, Bangladesh and global studies, information technology, general knowledge and intelligence.

The Inter-Services Selection Board, which conducts the admission process, has published the revised syllabus for the 2027 academic year.

The cadet college admission process is conducted in three stages—written, oral, and medical examinations.

The written examination is considered the most competitive stage, as candidates have to qualify in it to proceed to the subsequent stages.

In 2026, the written test carried 300 marks, including 100 each in English and mathematics, 60 in Bangla, and 40 in science, history, social science, digital technology, general knowledge, and intelligence.

The reduction in marks means that the admission test will return to the structure used before 2019.

The written admission test had been held for 200 marks from 2007 to 2018. It was increased to 300 marks in 2019 and remained at that level through the 2026 admission cycle.
