Maritime ports asked to hoist cautionary signal No 1

he Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Sunday asked maritime ports of six regions of the country to hoist local cautionary signal No 1 as gusty winds and rain or thunderstorms were forecast in those areas.

In a weather forecast issued at 5:00am on Sunday for inland river ports, the BMD said that Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Chattogram and Cox's Bazar might experience temporary rain or thunderstorms.

It also said that the weather could be accompanied by gusty or squally winds blowing from the south or southeast at a speed of 45 to 60 kilometres per hour.

The BMD advised the ports in the regions to hoist local cautionary signal No 1.
