Sharmin Akhter and Shorna Akter hit half-centuries but Bangladesh were bowled out 172 in 49.5 overs against Australia in their third and final Women's ODI of the series at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane, Australia on Wednesday.

Having lost the series 2-0, Bangladesh made another poor start with openers Murshida, who replaced Farzana Hoque, falling for 1 and Sharmin Sultana made six before being removed by Megan Schutt.

Schutt struck again to dismiss Nigar Sultana for 3 as Bangladesh slid to 18-3 inside the powerplay. Then Sharmin took charge and added 27 runs with Sobhana Mostary and another 54-run stand with Shorna to tackle the initial pressure.

Sobhana, who scored a century in the previous match, managed just nine before falling to Schutt, who claimed her fourth wicket.

While Sharmin scored 50 off 93 before getting removed by Ellyse Perry just after reaching fifty with a sharp catch to Nicola Carey, leaving the scoreboard 99-5.

Shorna continued with the bat and survived a review on 43 as she went on top score with 54 off 71 before being  stumped off Anabell Sutherland.

Rabeya Khan and Disha Biswas both contributed 13 runs before they were eventually dismissed.

Schutt finished with 4-16, while Sutherland and Ashleigh Gardner claimed two wickets each.
