It is held every year on the Sunday after Labor Day in several venues in Toronto. 'Terry Fox Run' is the world's largest one-day fund raiser for cancer research.

Terry Fox was an athlete and cancer research activist. In 1977, he had to have one leg amputated due to cancer. Even with one leg, young Terry started 'Marathon of Hope' across Canada to raise funds and awareness for cancer.

In the summer of 1980, he ran continuously for 143 days, covering 5,373 kilometers across six provinces. Although he had to stop due to the advanced spread of cancer, his effort left a legacy that inspired the world In 1981, 'Terry Fox Foundation' launched the 'Terry Fox Run.' To date, this marathon has raised over 1 billion dollars.

More than 16 million dollars has been collected from this Willowcreek Park venue alone. This marathon is also held in 60 countries around the world outside of Canada. This 5 to 15 kilometer marathon is very informal. Besides overcoming distance, symbolic participation also holds significant importance here.

And for this reason, people of all ages and physically challenged individuals participate in this run. Like other established marathons, Terry Fox Run has no corporate sponsors, as per Terry's wishes. As the youngest, Terry Fox received Canada's highest honors, the 'Order of Canada.' Terry is called Canada's 'National Hero.' All over Canada, countless institutions are named after Terry.

Although Terry Fox's 'Marathon of Hope' has come to an end, the 'Marathon of Hope' continues to survive worldwide through the love, enthusiasm, and participation of countless people, it will...

This time, my 10km marathon was my 14th participation.
